A paper-like material developed at Xerox's Palo Alto Research Center (www.parc.com) that can change its display properties when a voltage is applied. It is made of a thin sheet of gyricon plastic, invented by Xerox, that contains millions of charged beads with black and white hemispheres. When the paper is fed through an "Electronic Paper printer," a voltage pattern is applied, and the beads either show their black or white side. The Electronic Paper can be fed through the printer about a thousand times. See digital paper.
