Instead of waiting months for a custom crystal or a custom PLL, designers can create a production-grade sample using an EPROM programmer in their labs in just thirty minutes or less.
The boot code has to be programmed into the memory using a standard EPROM programmer or is available as a fixed ROM bootstrap loader on the MCU.
