ESI(Edge Side Includes) A markup language for Web pages that enables elements of a Web page to be dynamically assembled in servers distributed throughout the Internet. It allows caching, which is normally advantageous only for static pages, to be effective with dynamic Web pages, because the various pieces of the page can be tagged cacheable or non-cacheable.
