Eddy, Henry (Turner) (1844–1921) educator, engineer; born in Stoughton, Mass. From 1868, Eddy was a professor of mathematics and engineering at several universities. He served as president of Rose Polytechnic Institute in Terre Haute, Ind., (1890–94) then returned to being a professor of engineering. Eddy's main focus was on research in reinforced concrete flat slabs.
