Edge, (Mabel) Rosalie (1877–1962) reformer, conservationist; born in New York City. A campaigner for women's suffrage, she turned her attention to conservation after women were granted the vote in 1920. From 1929–59 she was the crusading leader of the Emergency Conservation Committee. She lobbied successfully for the creation of King's Canyon and Olympic national parks and for the establishment of the Hawk Mountain Sanctuary for predator birds in Pennsylvania.
