A family of low-cost subnotebook computers from ASUStek Computer Inc. (http://eeepc.asus.com/global). Introduced in 2007, models have a 7" screen, solid state flash drive and are available for Linux or Windows XP. See low-cost laptops.

Trend Micro has signed an OEM agreement with one of the world's largest PC makers to bundle its flagship consumer product -- Trend Micro Internet Security -- on select ASUS laptops, desktops and premium Eee PC models shipped worldwide.
Byline: KEVIN LYNCH *** pounds 349 Most netbooks often tend to be little more than rebadged version's of the Asus Eee PC range or a variation on MSI's Wind, with 10in low-resolution screens and an Intel Atom processor.
The prominent Mobile Devices panel noted that the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell is "very easy to carry", "has one [of] the largest [LED-backlit displays] in its category", and is "powered by the Intel Atom N280 processor, the very best in the field" - concluding with a ringing endorsement of the Eee PC 1008HA Seashell's superiority on the form, function and fashion fronts: "If you want to have the most powerful netbook, and the most fashionable one, the ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell is your bestchoice.
