Egedesminde, Greenland: see Aasiaat Aasiaat , formerly Egedesminde , town (1996 pop. 3,039), Aasiaat dist., W Greenland, at the mouth of Disko Bay. It is the fourth largest town in Greenland. It was founded in 1759 and named for Hans Egede, a Norwegian missionary.
