e-government(Electronic-GOVERNMENT) A generic term for Web-based services from agencies of local, state and federal governments. Such Web sites provide a wide variety of services to the public and have been extremely helpful in reducing internal paperwork. For example, the myriad of forms that government agencies require can typically be downloaded from a Web site. When information on the site is clearly indexed and explained, the number of support calls is dramatically reduced compared to the days before the Web. How to thank TFD for its existence?
