Joshua, like John and like many of us, was worried about Eldad (which in Hebrew means "loved by God") and Medad (Heb. At an anti-disengagement rally held April 27 in the Gush Katif settlement, Knesset member Aryeh Eldad of the right-wing National Union Party called for mass civil disobedience to prevent a withdrawal from the Gaza Strip. What comes to mind is the little-known story of Eldad and Medad, found in Numbers 11; it is a story some of those prelates would do well to ponder. |
