Brazil's electronics industry association, Abinee, estimates that the semiconductor industry alone will need $1 billion to make the nation self-sufficient in manufacturing the fundamental components for new digital equipment. In addition, Hoover has served on the Electronics Industry Association, Board of Governors; AFCEA International, Board of Directors and as co-Chairman of Leukemia Society of America, National Capital Region's Gala Fundraiser; was a member of the George Washington University/Loudoun Campus Board of Advisors from 1996 to 2000, and currently sits on the Marymount University Business School, Board of Visitors. The Electronics Manufacturers Coalition for Responsible Recycling (EMCRR) is sharing its concerns with members of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) and the Electronics Industry Association (EIA) because of new electronic waste legislation (SB6428) signed into law by Governor Chris Gregoire. |
