El’gi Plateau
a plateau in the central part of the Iana-Oimiakon Highland, in the basin of the El’gi River (Indigirka basin) and the Delin’ia River (Aldan basin), in the Yakut ASSR. Dome-shaped peaks with elevations to 1,590 m rise above the leveled-out interfluves, which are composed of sandstones and siltstones. On the slopes are overgrowths of dwarf cedar; higher up is rocky lichen tundra. The valleys have sparse larch taiga vegetation, and the floodplains have willow thickets and poplar groves.
