Bykova, Elizaveta Ivanovna
Born Nov. 1 (14), 1913, in the village of Bogoliubovo, in present-day Vladimir Oblast. Soviet chess player. Honored Master of Sport of the USSR (1953); International Master (1959). Bykova has been the women’s chess champion of the USSR (1947, 1948, 1950) and of the world (1953-56, 1958-62). She was awarded the Badge of Honor.
