Embolotherium

a genus of fossil perissodactyls of the family Brontotheridae. The Embolotherium, which lived during the Oligocene, resembled a rhinoceros but was the size of an elephant. At the end of its snout it had a bony, shovel-shaped horn. It inhabited marshy plains, as well as the shores of rivers and lakes. It fed on succulent vegetation. Remains have been found in Central Asia.
