Embritopoda
an order of fossil mammals, consisting of a single Oligocene genus, Arsinotherium. The animal was the size of a large rhinoceros, with short, massive legs. On the nasal bones in front of the eye sockets there were two large horns, and directly above the eye sockets there were two small ones. The molars were large, with a high, ridgelike crown. The animals, which were herbivorous, were most closely related to Proboscidea and Hyracoidea. Remains are known only from Northeast Africa. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
