The relative emission spectrum of the LED source was measured with a calibrated CVI-monochromator (Digikrom 480) and was found to lie within the range 430-520 nm with its spectral emittance centered at 470 nm.
Michael Van De Mark, director of the Missouri S&T Coatings Institute at the Missouri University of Science and Technology, believes that advances in technology for architectural coatings could some day be driven by legislation targeting levels of emittance and reflectivity for the exterior walls of buildings.
