Empoli 

a city in central Italy, in Tuscany, in Florence Province, on the Arno River. Population, 43,000 (1968). Empoli has clothing, glass, footwear, and paper industries; it also produces agricultural equipment and chemical fertilizers. An art gallery is located in the city.
