Enciso, Martín Fernández de (märtēn` fĕrnän`dāth dā ĕnthē`sō), fl. 1509–19, Spanish conquistador and geographer. Commanding the supply ship for the colony planted (1509) near Cartagena by Ojeda Ojeda, Alonso de , c.1466–1515?, Spanish conquistador. He joined Columbus on his second voyage and in 1499—at first accompanied by Vespucci—explored the northeastern coast of South America.
