Engineer Explosive Items
explosive devices, explosive charges, mines, pyrotechnic devices, and other objects of engineer armament equipped with explosives and pyrotechnic compounds. Explosive devices include primer-detonators, electric detonators, electric igniters, igniting fuses, detonating cords, time fuses, lighter fuses, and firing devices. Explosive charges are used for purposes of destruction, for setting up obstacles, and for carrying out other missions related to engineer assistance of troop combat activities. The basic device for these purposes is the mine. Other kinds of engineer explosive items include projectiles used in engineer rope-throwers and, in some armies, nuclear mines. Almost all engineer explosive items can operate at temperatures between 50°C and –50° C. M. P. GONCHAROV Want to thank TFD for its existence?
