Geology denoting, relating to, or characteristic of the early part of the Stone Age, characterized by the use of crude stone tools

Eolithic 

in archaeology, a term used in the 19th century to denote the oldest period of the Stone Age. The period was identified from eoliths by G. de Mortillet and others. The term is not used by modern archaeologists.
