| According to Verispan's ePromotion Audit, Merck was responsible for nearly one-fifth of the money spent on e-promotion industrywide in the first quarter of 2007 and was the number one company in terms of e-promotion expenditures. According to Verispan's 2006 ePromotion Annual Study, the majority of physicians (58%) view ePromotion as being as reliable as face-to-face promotion, while 31% view it as being less reliable. According to Verispan's 2005 ePromotion Annual Study, a significant percentage of physicians spend over 7 hours online each week for any reason (41%), and 44% of physicians spend between 1 and 3 hours online for health research during an average week. |
