Ermak State Regional Power Plant
a large con densation steam power plant, located in the city of Ermak, Pavlodar Oblast, Kazakh SSR. The planned capacity is 2.4 GW (gigawatts, millions of kW). Eight units of 300 MW (thousands of kW) are being installed. The construction of the power plant was started in 1960, and the first unit became operative in 1968. By the end of 1971 the capacity reached 1.2 GW. Coal from Ekibastuz Coal Basin is used as fuel; water is supplied from the Irtysh River.
