Erode

Erode (ĕrōd`), city (1991 urban agglomeration pop. 361,755), Tamil Nadu state, S India, on the Kaveri River. The city is located in a cotton-growing region, and its industries include cotton ginning and the manufacture of transport equipment. Erode was the site of much fighting during the British wars with the Marathas Marathas or Mahrattas , Marathi-speaking people of W central India, known for their ability as warriors and their devotion to Hinduism. From their homeland in Maharashtra their chieftains rose to power in the 17th cent.

Byline: ANI Washington, September 3 (ANI): A new study has found that large-scale farming projects by humans can erode the Earth's surface at rates comparable to those of the world's largest rivers and glaciers.
That's been eroded over the years and the Government is trying to erode it again.
If we become complacent, our freedom to practice or not practice religion will, little by little, erode to the point where patriotism itself will be redefined by one's religious affiliation or lack thereof.
