Ershova, Vera Aleksandrovna
Born Mar. 25 (Apr. 7), 1917, in Saratov. Soviet Russian actress. People’s Artist of the USSR (1977). Ershova graduated from the I. A. Slonov Saratov Theatrical School in 1936. She made her debut at the Kursk Drama Theater, and in 1943 she joined the Kuibyshev Drama Theater. Her roles have included Mamaeva in A. N. Ostrovskii’s Even a Wise Man Stumbles, the title role in Tsagareli’s Khanuma, and Tolgonai in a stage version of Aitmatov’s The Maternal Field. She has also appeared as Mariia Sergeevna in Leonov’s The Golden Carriage, Mrs. Patrick Campbell in Kilty’s Dear Liar, and Mrs. Savage in Patrick’s Curious Savage. Ershova received the K. S. Stanislavsky State Prize of the RSFSR in 1976 and has been awarded the Order of Lenin and various medals. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
