Esch-Sur-Alzette

Esch-sur-Alzette (ĕsh-sür-älzĕt`) or Esch, city (1991 est. pop. 24,012), SW Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, on the Alzette River. It is an industrial center and a rail junction. Manufactures include iron and steel, cement, tar products, and fertilizer.
Esch-Sur-Alzette 

(also Esch), a city in Luxembourg, on the Alzette River. Population, 28,000 (1976). Esch-sur-Alzette is an iron-mining center. Industry is represented by ferrous metallurgy, machine building, brewing, and the production of varnishes, paints, and cement.
