CH₃(CH₂)₅COOC₂H₅A clear, colorless oil with a boiling point of 187°C; soluble in alcohol, chloroform, and ether; taste and odor are fruity; used as a flavor for liqueurs and soft drinks. Also known as cognac oil; ethyl heptanoate; ethyl oenanthate.
