Eucharis

a genus of bulbous plants of the family Amaryllidaceae. The broadly oval leaves are on long peduncles. The flowers are large, white, and fragrant; they are in umbels borne by tall scape. The perianth consists of six bracts that join together at the base to form a tube. There are about 20 species, distributed mainly in the Colombian Andes and the Amazon lowland. Several species, including the Amazon lily (E. grandiflora) and E. Candida, are cultivated in greenhouses and as houseplants.
