Eurovision
an international television organization set up in 1954 within the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) to provide regular exchanges of programs among television organizations that are members of the EBU. The Eurovision network began officially on July 2, 1954. In 1971 Eurovision had 33 member organizations from 30 countries with a deciding vote and 54 member organizations from 35 countries with a consultative vote. The organization provides intensive ex-change of entertainment, educational, and sports programs. The Administrative Bureau of EBU, located in Geneva, coordinates the programs broadcast on the Eurovision net-work, and the Central Technical Administration of EBU, located in Brussels, provides technical coordination. Eurovision has been exchanging programs with Intervision, its Eastern European counterpart, since 1961. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
