He was deposed and exiled by a faction led by Eusebius of Nicomedia during the Arian reaction. His followers refused to acknowledge Meletius Meletius, Saint (mĭlē`shəs), d. 381, Catholic bishop, leader of the Meletian faction in the Antiochene schism.
