Krendovskii began his training at A. V. Stupin’s Arzamas School of Painting. From 1830 to 1835 he studied in St. Petersburg under A. G. Venetsianov and in the drawing classes at the Academy of Arts. From the end of the 1830’s Krendovskii lived in the village of Manuilovka, Poltava Province. He was a genre painter (including interior scenes) and portraitist. His works include Preparations for the Hunt (1836), Square of a Provincial Town (1840’s), and a miniature with a portrait of the Kapnist children (watercolor and gouache, 1848)—all three are in the Tret’iakov Gallery.
