Evlakh

 

a city (prior to 1938, a settlement) in the Azerbaijan SSR.

Evlakh is a landing on the Kura River and is served by the Tbilisi-Baku railway line; a railroad has been built from Evlakh to Agdam, and the city is a highway junction. With a population of 29,000 (1970), the city has large cotton-ginning and tobacco-curing plants, a milk-processing plant, and a grain elevator and mixed-feed plant. Building materials are produced in Evlakh.
