Congestion control: Causes and effects of congestion - significance of congestion collapse - function of the fields of the frame header - explicit and implicit congestion notification - congestion control measures including the function of the DE, FECN and BECN bits.
In frame relay networks, Dynamic Rate Change interacts with the congestion warnings sent between IEN devices, called BECN and FECN signals (backward explicit congestion notifications and forward explicit congestion notifications) to coordinate between the flow of calls onto the network and the amount of bandwidth assigned to each.
