Fabricius

Fabricius (Caius Fabricius Luscinus) (fəbrĭsh`əs fäbrēä`nō), d. 250 B.C., Roman general and statesman, distinguished for simplicity of habit and probity in public life. He persuaded the Tarentines to abstain from war with Rome and, as consul (282 B.C.), defeated the Boii and the Etruscans. While negotiating with Pyrrhus Pyrrhus , c.318–272 B.C., Molossian king of Epirus. He fought at Ipsus in Asia Minor in the service of Demetrius Poliorcetes (later Demetrius I) of Macedon, and by the aid of Ptolemy I he became (297 B.C.) joint king of Epirus with Neoptolemus.
