Fadeechev, Nikolai Borisovich
(also Fadeyechev). Born Jan. 27, 1933, in Moscow. Soviet ballet dancer. People’s Artist of the USSR (1976). In 1952, Fadeechev graduated from the Moscow Choreographic School and joined the company of the Bol’shoi Theater in Moscow. His roles have included Siegfried in Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, Albrecht in Adam’s Giselle, Don Jose in the Carmen Suite, to Bizet’s music arranged by Shchedrin, and Karenin in Shchedrin’s Anna Karenina. His dancing is noted for its polished technique, lightness, and romanticism. Fadeechev was a frequent partner of G. S. Ulanova and M. M. Plisetskaia. He has been teaching since 1974.
