A binary format standard for XML from the ITU-T and ISO that reduces the size of text-based XML files (XML infosets) and improves parsing speed. Based on ASN.1 notation, Fast Infoset files can be easily compressed to as little as 20% of their original size. When an external schema is used, they can be compressed to an extraordinary 5% of original size. See binary XML, XML and ASN.1. |
