Federated Women's Club State Forest Location: In Petersham and New Salem. Take Route 202 to Route 122. Follow signs. Facilities: Limited service campsites, trails, scenic viewing areas. Activities: Camping (first come, first served), fishing, hiking, hunting (with restrictions), cross-country skiing, wildlife observation. Special Features: A 140-acre wildlife sanctuary has been set aside in the center of the forest, and a dammed pond on Fever Brook attracts migrating and native wildfowl. The road along Fever Brook offers outstanding scenery. The forest's chief geological feature, the Gorge, is located in the southwest section.
