Feenberg, Eugene (1906–77) physicist; born in Fort Smith, Ark. He taught at several American universities, including New York University (1938–46), before coming to Washington University, St. Louis (1946–74). His 1939 publication describing his splitting of the uranium atom made him a pioneer in the development of the theory of atomic energy. How to thank TFD for its existence?
