Feira de Santana

Feira de Santana (fā`rə dĭ səntä`nə), city (1991 pop. 340,621), Bahia state, E Brazil, between the Jacuípe and Pojuca rivers. It is a distribution center for the products of Bahia's interior and is one of the state's leading producers of dried beef. Tobacco, manioc, beans, and corn are grown, and ceramics, bicycles, and furniture are produced. Cattle breeding is also important. The city is a major highway nexus.
Feira de Santana 

a city in northeastern Brazil, in the state of Bahia. Population, 129,500 (1970). Feira de Santana has a railroad station. It is the trade and industrial center of a livestockraising region. It has enterprises of the leather, meat-packing, and tobacco industries.
