Felsenthal, Bernhard

Felsenthal, Bernhard (1822–1908) rabbi; born in Münchweiler, Germany. He came to the U.S.A. in 1854 and served the Sinai and Zion Congregations in Chicago (1861–87). A moderate leader of Reform Judaism in the Midwest, he was an early Zionist. He was a founder of the Jewish Publication Society of America and the American Jewish Historical Society.
