Fernandez de Avellaneda, Alonso

    0.01 sec.
Fernández de Avellaneda, Alonso

the pseudonym of the author of a spurious sequel to M. de Cervantes’ Don Quixote. Fernández de Avellaneda, whose identity remains unknown, wrote the sequel from a reactionary feudal and Catholic point of view. In the nature of a parody, it contains sharp attacks on Cervantes. Cervantes, in turn, included vicious attacks on Fernández de Avellaneda in his own second volume of Don Quixote.
