Ferri, Ciro

    0.01 sec.
Ferri, Ciro (chē`rō fĕr`rē), 1634–89, Italian baroque painter, etcher, and architect, the most celebrated pupil of Pietro da Cortona. He imitated Cortona's style with such success that he was employed to complete his unfinished works in the Pitti Palace, Florence, and in Rome. Among his chief independent works are the biblical frescoes in Santa Maria Maggiore, Bergamo, and the frescoes in the cupola of Sant' Agnese in the Piazza Navona, Rome.
