Fichandler, Zelda (b. Zelda Diamond) (1924– ) theater producer, director; born in Boston, Mass. A cofounder of the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C., in 1950, she was responsible for presenting a wide array of European and American plays. Premiere performances under her auspices include The Great White Hope (1967). She received many awards including a special Tony award in 1967 for theatrical work outside New York City.
