Field, Martha A. (Amanda) (1943– ) legal scholar; born in Boston, Mass. She taught at the University of Pennsylvania (1969–72) and at Harvard (1978). She is known for her knowledge of administrative and constitutional law and her writings on women's issues, surrogate motherhood, and civil rights of the mentally retarded.
