Fink, Max (1923– ) psychiatrist, psychiatric educator; born in Vienna, Austria. He came to this country in the late 1930s and would become professor of psychiatry at State University of New York: Stony Brook (1972). In the 1950s and 1960s he and coworkers pioneered the field of pharmaco-electroencephalography, the EEG analysis of the effects of drugs. He also became an authority on electroconvulsive therapy and coauthored the principal texts on the subject. |
