Firsov, Anatolii Vasil’evich 

Born Feb. 1, 1941, in Moscow. Soviet ice hockey player and coach. Honored Master of Sport (1964). Soviet Army Officer. Member of the CPSU since 1968.

Firsov was champion of the USSR nine times between 1963 and 1973 as a member of the team of the Central Sports Club of the Army. He was European champion seven times between 1964 and 1970, world champion eight times between 1964 and 1971, and Olympic champion in 1964, 1968, and 1972. He was voted best forward at the world championships in 1967 and 1971 and at the Olympics in 1968.

Firsov has been awarded three orders and various medals.
