Fitzsimmons, (Robert Prometheus) Bob (1862–1917) boxer; born in Helston, England. He grew up in New Zealand and he began his professional boxing career there and in Australia. After immigrating to the U.S.A. in 1890, he went on to win three world titles: middleweight (1891–97), heavyweight (1897–99), and light heavyweight (1903–05). He continued boxing until the age of 52. His career record was 40 victories (32 knockouts), 11 losses.
