A single staff or pole rising from the ground and on which flags or other signals are displayed; on charts the term is used only when the pole is not attached to a building.

Justice Minister Nurlan Tursunkulov said these amendments envisage raising the national flag on the flag poles at the central squares in Bishkek and Osh, in front of the State Residence, Government House, Constitutional Court, Central Election Commission, Ombudsman's office and central government agencies.
The company fought off international competition to clinch the deals, which included a commission to supply poles for the Qatar Royal Family's equestrian centre, the local government of Oman, and Dubai event company HQ Creative, which requested new fan assisted flag poles to guarantee its ensignia fly in the still desert air the same pole design that was supplied to raise the Olympic flag at the London 2012 launch in October.
Brian and his colleagues on the town council have suggested installing a new flag pole but the Tory-run district council has offered no response.
