Flash video

A video in the Flash file format. Although originally an animation format, Flash is widely used as a video format because it enables the author to add interactive controls. The native Flash video file uses the .FLV extension, but was designed to be embedded in the standard Flash .SWF format. However, there are third-party players that play FLV files natively. See Flash and Flash movie.
