Fly RiverRiver, south-central New Guinea. One of the island's largest rivers, it flows almost wholly through Papua New Guinea, except for a short stretch of its middle course, which forms the border between Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Rising in the Victor Emanuel Range in the central highlands, it flows south for about 700 mi (1,100 km) to the Gulf of Papua on the Coral Sea; much of it is navigable.
