fog forest [′fäg ‚fär·əst]
(ecology)
The dense, rich forest growth which is found at high or medium-high altitudes on tropical mountains; occurs when the tropical rain forest penetrates altitudes of cloud formation, and the climate is excessively moist and not too cold to prevent plant growth.
