footlights
One of a row of lights set in a trough, in a theater stage floor, which runs across the width of the stage in front of the curtain.

Footlight 

in the theater, a lighting unit installed along the front edge of the stage, behind the proscenium arch. Footlights illuminate the stage from the front and from below; in the modern theater, they constitute only part of the lighting system.
